Incoming Happy Mail!

Hello!

I received a wonderful birthday envelope from Monika, aka Drachenfrau on SwapBot, in Germany on April 13th.  She sent me some goodies towards my April wishlist in the Make A Wish! group.

There was a pretty tulip birthday card, some stickers (great for my future happy mailings I send), and great postcards for my collection.

Thank you so much for sending me these goodies Monika!

Until next time,

Incoming Swap: Maple Leaf ATC

Hello all!

Today I am sharing an incoming swap I received from Karmi53 for the Maple Leaf ATC swap in the Canadian Swappers group on SwapBot.

I really like the atc she created for me...pretty stickers and such and I just now noticed the textured background she used so that's pretty cool!

I will be adding her pretty atc to my growing atc collection and look forward to using the extras she included on future projects.

Until next time!

Incoming Swap: Canadian Swappers - Spring Happy Mail

Hello all!

These two packages that I recently received for a swap I hosted in the Canadian Swappers group, Spring Happy Mail.  For this fun swap we stuffed an envie full of various Spring themed goodies.....flowers, Spring colours, etc.

This fun package came from HelenG6.  She included a notecard, notepapers, a bookmark, a bunch of stickers...it is all great!  Even the stamps fit the swap theme :)

This package came from CapeyGirl.  Pretty notepapers, some embellished paper clips, fun craft papers, even golf ball sticky notes!  This envie too had stamps that matched the theme.

I look forward to sharing another swap again soon!

Outgoing Happy Mailing 4/21/18

Hello all!

Today I wanted to share a pic of what went out in the mail today :)  I have blacked out my partners addresses aside from their country names.

These envelopes are destined to CeeCee for the "US/Canada Wishlist" tag game, Jacianne for the "Junk Journal Supplies - In the Garden" swap, Msturgill87 for the "Destash Tag" & a Wishlist group wish, and lastly envies to both Tuutis & Bavarij for the "5 Postcards to 2 Partners #155" swap.

Further down the road I will be able to share the outgoing swaps to CeeCee, Tuutis, and Bavarij....the other two I forgot to photograph before ceiling.  Alas, I am still struggling to remember to take pictures but I am getting better :)

Til next time,
Crystal

Maple Leaf ATC Swap

I was recently in a swap, on SwapBot, for an ATC with a maple leaf on it.  It was hosted by the wonderful Karmi53 in the group Canadian Swappers.

For those that do not know an ATC is short for artists trading card and is a piece of art you create measuring 2.5"x3.5".  I will be going into atc's etc in a future post :)

I struggled at first with this one but I finally got down to it and ended up creating a fun little creation I named "Oh Canada".  It isn't super artsy but I liked it and it was well received by my partner :)  I wish I had the talent for drawing & painting but I just don't, but I do enjoy mixed media & collage so that is usually the mediums I use to create both my atc's and pocket letters (more on those in a later post).

For the main aspects of this one I did some stamping on the background to try and symbolize our national anthem and decoupaged orange mulberry paper onto a maple leaf shape I cut.  On the edges of the maple leaf is some red Stickles.

Once I was done I packaged it up and mailed it off my partner in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

I hope this inspired someone!

Until next time,
Crystal

My Crafting Space

Today I would like to share what I call my crafty space!  It is actually supposed to be the dining area in our apartment, between the kitchen and the living room.  Before we even moved in I claimed that space for my stuff because I have a lot of crafting & mailing stuff.....but don't we all?!  Or is it just my hoarding nature?! Lol.

What I love about my space is that it is in the corner which works perfectly for my two 5x5 Expedit units AND the desks (yes the true Expedit units & desks...both of which have been discontinued :( ).  I have created a room essentially, in what would be an open layout, and I think it is pretty cozy in here!  It may not work for everyone but it works for me :)

What I mainly do in my space is papercrafting so 9o% of my storage is paper craft related.  I don't do much any other craft though I do have some paints and fabric but I wouldn't consider myself either a painter or a sewer lol.

Up first is a couple of overall shots.  One side is my main crafting space the other....well its a "holding" area right now one that holds not frequently used craft goodies and my office type things like my computer and printer.  That area is one I do plan on working on....I do need to eventually set up my actual computer and the stuff in front just needs to go away!  The Expedit closest to my crafting area is all mapped out...I have a chart with what is in what cube :)  The other side is something else on my to-do list....map that side too.

Up next is a closeup of my main crafting area.  On my left is my stamp & inkpad storage (second level above my desk) along with my paints & other wet mediums (the pink box & teal basket).  In front of my are just random bits....atc backings, small envelopes, paper for writing notes to self, my garbage buckets, pens etc.  On the right of my desk is a small basket with my bits that need to be moved elsewhere & my tote with more bits and bobs...scissors, dry paint, stamp scrubber, paint brushes, stamp press, glue, rulers etc.

Off to the right, next to my desk is my 6x6 paper storage (pic further down), my scrap bins (pic further down), sticky notes, some washi I need to use up etc.

Off to my left, on my Expedit, is my "mailing centre".  In 3 of the cubes are three 3-drawer units that store nearly everything I need for mailing....stamps, note papers, swap cards, postal scale, envelopes, note cards, cute packaging, and paper to make my own envelopes.

Then we move on to the area right behind me....my rainbow tower.  It is hinky as heck and not too sturdy but I only paid $10 so I am completely happy with that!  It stores all my ephemera I get in swaps, buy at various stores, am given etc that I just do not want to keep myself but want to share with others.  They are all sorted by colour with the exception of the very bottom one designated as "holidays/special events".  On the top are larger items for me to send out in swaps or in tag games.

Behind me and to my right is my bookcase.  That is filled with the cute shoeboxes we find at Michael's and in them is just....everything lol.  Some of the things I keep there are markers, diecuts & punchies, 3d embellishments like buttons, gems & sequins, office supplies like tape/labels/sharpener etc, my Cricut stuff, my Spellbinders stuff, embossing supplies etc.  Another item on my to-do list is to map what is stored on that.  While I know whats stored there & I have the boxes labelled it would still be nice to have in case anyone else needs to find something :)  On the top is my washi tapes, flat ephemera in a box, decorative napkins, and extra bits to put onto my "inspiration board".

And speaking of my inspiration board here it is...I love it!  I like to put up my favourite bits I receive in happy mails and have a container to swap items out with when I get a chance to.  Do not fret if you do not see something you have sent me up there....I keep everything somewhere it just might not be on that board is all :)

And the last pics to share is my paper storage as I am always asked what I do for storage.  I will readily admit that I am a paper hoarder and the stuff is everywhere...it is what it is though lol.

My 12x12 storage & 8.5x11 storage.  My 12x12 paper pads are labelled on the spine with the name of the pad and idea of the contents or colour scheme, my 8.5x11 is sorted my colour and stored in magazine boxes from the Dollar Tree, my 12x12 coloured cardstock is organized by colour and stored in old USPS flat rate mailing boxes from past swaps, my loose patterned 12x12 papers are sorted by colour and also stored in old USPS flat rate mailing boxes.

My 6x6 paper storage in the metal drawer unit to the right of my desk.  Organized by colour.

My scrap storage, organized by colour.

My tower from Michaels.  It was a B to put together but it works well!  I had to put the shelves ON the little dowels though as I tried to built it with the dowels IN the shelves but every last one just busted apart under very little weight lol.  Here I store my special 12x12 papers, my premade scrapbooking kits/pages, etc.

So that is my crafty space.....my little corner of heaven, so to speak.  If I have ever created something for you or sent you some happy mail THIS is where it came from :)

Sincerely,
Crystal
